2012... man I hope the Mayan's were wrong
So 2012 has started really rough... well actually that isn't true. It started on a really high note. I don't think we could have been more excited. January passed and February rolled around. The rockyness began. The first bad news we were able to roll off the shoulder, because well there were greater days ahead and we knew it. Then we got a big hit. The highlight of our year was suddenly gone faster than it had appeared. I don't think I can explain how devastated we felt, but I know there are many others who understand or have felt that same sadness. Anyway, we are trying to keep on keeping on. Focusing on each other, work and school. I will admit that I have had many days of feeling depressed and like all I want to do is roll in a ball and cry and get hugged by my hubby bubby or my momma. Those days are tough, but luckily they are getting fewer and further between. Although I do think that as the year goes by those depressed days, or the sadness will be a little bit more "exaggerated" because I will remember what I wont have and what I had looked forward to. Anyway, after that change in our year "plan" we decided that it was time to buy a house since we would most likely be in LA for a few more years. So, we have been looking. We have put offers in on two houses and for some reason, in both cases the offers have not been accepted... well the first one it was low but the listing agent didn't let anyone know that the offers had been rejected and so by the time we put in a new higher offer, an new offer had already been accepted. The second house, they wanted mainly cash only offers because it looked like it needed more work than the first one (although I think they needed the same amount of work, but the second house had a lot more land). Anyway, we put an offer above asking price and apparently someone put in an all cash offer at about the same price as we offered. POOP ! We really liked both of these houses and both didn't pan out... I think I need to go egg houses or TP them some night hahaha.. jk. Anyway, while I am sure the right house will appear, we really feel like we haven't had much luck in this whole process.
So yea, as you can see this year has been pretty rocky. I think the whole house thing wouldn't seem so bad if the year hadn't been tarnished by February's yuckyness. I really hope the yuckyness of life doesn't spill over into dental school cuz I would really like to graduate with my class. I also hope that we get some good news in the realm of big life changes. We could use some. If we don't, I really hope the Mayan's were wrong because who wants to end on a low note. I guess it really wouldn't be ending it on a low note since we are still a family and we have our health and our love. Life may seem poopy, but we still have so many blessings like shelter, clothing, food, tommy has a job, i have patients at school, and we still have each other, our puppies and our family. All of these difficulties would be a trillion times harder without our momma's. Anyway, sorry for the depressing blog. Sometimes that happens. I just have to remember that everything happens for a reason, we may not know that reason now, or even in this life time, but there is a reason why. I also need to remember to count my blessings. Thanks for reading my rambling... if anyone reads these. Peace out.

cliff notes of the past few months
ok so in the past few months lots has happened, but not really hahaha... January, school started again. February, we celebrated valentines day. that was fun because i surprised tommy with a trip to Santa Barbara... he has never been, but now absolutely loves the city. We stayed at an adorable B&B, walked along the beach, and saw a silly lady get her lunch eaten by a seagull haha.. awesome. After that we came back to LA and back to reality.. booo. after that we've just been counting down the weeks until Tommy graduates... cuz then we don't have to be apart every other weekend. YAY!! Oh and this month we celebrated our 3 year anniversary. this was super fun because tommy surprised me with a fancy home cooked dinner. he even got dressed in his suit and i put on my prom dress haha ... we should have taken pictures... but we didn't. Anyway, that is the past few months in a nutshell. maybe i'll post pictures by themselves... or maybe i wont haha we'll see what i have time for... school is busy :)
on a side note, my sister is pregnant with a little girl who is due to be born in late july/ early august. good times....
and now... goodbye :)

tommy and his turkey leg...
KAT-CHUP!
hello hello! so its been a long time... lets see what i can remember about the last few months.
so a few months back, when Tommy came down to visit... i decided that we should be spontaneous and we stopped by the mission San Juan Capistrano. It was purdy. Here is a picture of the broken mission. An earthquake caused the destruction of the mission.
we took some other pictures but i like this one cuz you can't see my pants that are way too big for me and make me look 30lbs heavier haha :) so anyway, we walked around the mission and were a little bit late to see my mommy. I really love what i saw of the town the mission is in too. it is beautiful.
so anyway, i think our capistrano trip was the last weekend tommy went out to Cali... or maybe it was the second to last before his trip out to Cali for Christmas. but in anycase, finals happened and i survived. I fell into the average for all of my classes so that was great, i don't feel incompetent... well quite as incompetent as i used to :). After finals i was able to fly back to Utah and spend time with Tommy and our family out there. the one thing i hate about Cali is that i don't get to see my utah family as much as i used to... but then in utah i don't get to see my cali/mexico family quite as much either. anyway, i got to see Utah family and i loved it. i miss everyone.
aside from seeing family, tommy and i also had the chance to go to Temple Square to see the lights. this is one of my favorite pictures of the temple that night. it is absolutely beautiful.
it was great to see them and the cousins and uncles and aunts :) i worry about my grandparents cuz my grandpa seems like his memory is going more and more and like his health goes with his memory. he kept thinking i was his niece that day. sometimes he knows who i am. Maybe i am getting too old for him to recognize.
so that was the 24th. on the 25th we woke up late and opened presents. after that, we went to my mom's ranch/orchard and cut oranges, tangelos, bananas, etc.
there was a picture here of tommy chowing down on a turkey leg.... but it has disappeared. so i think i will just make it it's own post when i am done with this post :)
so days passed, we celebrated new years... tommy and i danced. and then a few days after new years.... we went to the beach! Coronado has the most beautiful sunsets... see! i love it. it was views like this that made me want to be a painter when i was a child.... and then i stunk at drawing and painting... but this is still a beautiful view.
its so pretty it makes my mommy jump for joy! or maybe it was just seeing my beautiful face for so many days hahaha just kidding :)

testweek #1 down, many more to go
so the first set of exams of my four year dental school career are officially over. I hope i did well, but we'll find out once scores are given. It is nice to have them over with and to have a few days to recoup. I will be recouping in San Diego, where i don't have to cook a meal and will have people to talk to hahah :) I need to start being a bit more social :) Anyway, i'll be there and hopefully i do some fun stuffs... and if not, i'll be with my mommy and brother so it's ok.... maybe i'll go see Mario Lopez at the Borders in Eastlake.... hahaha.. but then i'll have to buy his kids book.... hm... decisions decisions... anyway, it feels good to be done with exams, however it doesn't feel good to know that there are many more ahead of me... and some that will be a trillion times more stressful... so that was my week... ... Don't forget to wish my Tommy a happy birthday this sunday.... Yay for him being born! haha. ok the end!

so busy...
so it's been a while since I've posted on here. I've been pretty busy with school stuff... and when i'm not busy... i'm sleepy hahaha. always something :) anyway, not much has happened on my end. just school and school work. I've had the chance to drill out plastic teeth and fill them back up with gray wax. they look pretty ok. not perfect, but they will do. I'm excited for when i get to actually drill out a cavity... that will be a scary yet awesome day!
anyway tommy has been down to visit and I have flown up to visit. The past few times he has come down we have gone to go see my mom.... i don't think we will be able to do that next time since midterms will be the next week.
so on a random note, tommy and i have decided what we will be for Halloween... he is going to be Nightwing... and i'm going to be Huntress.... hopefully the stuff for our costumes come in on time. anyway here are pictures of what the costumes might look like. you can probably guess who is who....

i know, we are nerds... haha but i'm ok with that.... anyway, i'm off to do more school work... yay for learning!

bienvenidos a Los Angeles
So we've made the move... well kinda... haha we've half moved to los angeles. I am starting dental school at the university of southern california while Tommy is back in utah finishing up his degree at the U. It's tough, but with the help of modern technology the time apart doesn't seem so bad. i love web cams and being able to see my love every night :D it's good times.
so anyway, i live in a studio apartment... and it is actually quite spacious. once we got it all organized, it kinda feels cozy. It works for what it is :) any who, here are some pictures....
this is my slightly messy living room/bedroom/office
notice that emperor's new groove is playing on the TV....
and this is my kitchen/dinning area.. nice and cozy.
yea so that is basically my home for the next year and Tommy's home every other weekend... unless we go down to my mommy's house.. which has been happening alot.... but anyway it took us like two weeks to get everything together in the apartment cuz we were down in san diego alot. The weekend before orientation started we had my cousin's wedding to go to in El Centro... so cute! they both looked so happy!
so the next week was orientation... it was a lot of fun, i met a lot of new people and felt different than 95% of the people around me. haha its fun times. anyway at the end of last week we had a white coat ceremony where we all got out white coats.... and here is mine before the ceremony....
it says USC school of dentistry, century club, incoming class of 2009
they had a nice little presentation and then had us put our coats on and read an oath... woo hoo and here i am after with my mommy......

say hello to doctor and doctor... haha well will be doctor and is a doctor :P
so that's been life. this week was more of an orientation to what school will be like. I like the problem based learning cuz that's how i have always learned best was looking up an answer and applying it. anyway... i'm off to pay attention to my hubby bubby and read some learning needs packets.... LOVE YA MISS YA!!!

24 and 9 years
so yesterday was my 24th birthday... wierd i'm 24... and i feel like i'm still 18 years old. Tommy took me horseback riding. It was a great experience, we saw great views of Park City and of the mountains. The horse i got was a little bit of a delinquent, but that's what happens when you get a Mustang and you, yourself are not very confident. Anyway, it was fun, and below, on the last post, tommy posted a picture of the horses we rode and us on them.... i look super obese... but that is what happens when you have someone with legs of a thoroughbred on a thuroughbred horse hahah :P. Actually i don't think that 's what mustangs are... maybe... i dunno. anyway it was great! then there was dinner at a nice restaurant in park city with Corey and Liz. It was pretty expensive but that was fun too... the company was great, and the food was delicious!
So that was yesterday, today, is nine years since my daddy passed away... all i can think is HOLY CRAP nine years... that means next year it will have been a decade since he passed. I can't believe it's been that long. I have definantly learned and grown alot. No matter how long it's been though, i will still miss him. I always will and i am sad that my husband and my future kids will not meet him in this life. I am, however, very grateful for Eternal Families. Knowing that i will be able to see my father again someday makes me so excited and happy. Man i love knowing what i know, i just wish i wasn't such a coward and was brave enough to share it with others.
Anyway, thanks for reading. i hope you found this enlightening haha :P ok... love you.. bye!

Loving the visits
So my mommy and my brother were up this past weekend and we, tommy and I were able to spend time with them and with my sister and Bart. It was an awesome weekend. we went to the Oquirrh temple open house on Friday. That was awesome. You can totally see where the angel Moroni was struck with lightning.. tee hee. The inside is amazing also, it is so beautiful and makes me so greatful for temples and the oridances we can do on this earth because we have them. Here is a picture of me, my sister, and my mommy out in front-ish of it :P
Then Saturday, early morning Tommy, my mom, and i went up to Weber state to pick my brother up from EFY. We met my sister and Bart for breakfast at their apartment, the girls went shopping and the boys went shooting, then we went for lunch to Ruth's Diner. It was a great lunch, everyone agreed. I ate too much so the next few pics aren't all that flattering of me haha, but hey it's cool. We were outside the Ruth's and just taking pictures of immigration canyon.
I don't know what Tommy found, but it was cool enough to keep his attention :) I'm not sure what any of us are doing.
Here is the Razo clan :P I really couldn't have asked for a better family to be born in :P
Anyway, after that we went to try and find the graves of prophets but only found Bringham Young's. Then we went back to My sister and Bart's apartment to have Ice cream cake to celebrate my 24th birthday, even though it isn't until the 20th. I love Cold Stone ice cream cake... it is the best ever! I'd post pictures, but i don't like any of the ones i have... haha oh wait here is one of me digging in! yum!
Anyway, it was a great weekend with a lot of laughs and smiles. plus lots of food. I am really excited for the move back to California because i will be closer to my mommy and brother, even though my brother only has two more years of high school left, and who knows where he will end up. I'll definantly miss my in-laws though, hopefully we can visit them alot... anyway, this is all talk for a future entry. BYE!

la di dah
HI!!
just wanted to say hello, and see how this whole thing works. Tommy and I are enjoying our times together until dental school starts. We have about a month until we make the trek to LA... it's so wierd. i thought i would be ready, but right now i feel so insecure and nervous. I don't want to fail and i want to make my tommy proud.... no midnight sob calls..... hopefully. Haha, i'll just have to immerse myself in my school work so that our weekend conjugal visits come quickly.... HAHAHAHA!! bad... :P anywho... i don't know if anyone will see this, but if you do, welcome to the page of many emotions... probably mainly self-pitty and annoyance :P ENJOY
